“This charcoal drawing represents a poignant moment in my life at age 39. During my first solo trip to Europe, I visited my brother, exploring London for the first time. It was also my first time in Italy, where I fell in love with the people and the landscape. This adventure marked a turning point in my career as I was expanding into a busy portrait
studio. I titled the finished portrait, ‘In My Life’; inspired by the Beatles song that echoes the same nostalgic feelings I have about this time and the work itself.”
