Chantal Sulkow is a lifelong New Yorker whose artistic path has been shaped by a deep commitment to classical techniques and a passion for the human form. She studied illustration and portrait painting at The School of Visual Arts and later participated in the Metropolitan Museum of Art Copyist Program, where she had the invaluable experience of painting master copies on site. This formative period laid the foundation for her work as a fine artist, cultivating an understanding of both technique and artistic heritage. She has also studied at Grand Central Atelier and Chelsea Classical Studio in New York City. Chantal's work is rooted in her fascination not only with capturing the likeness but also with revealing the energy and spirit that lie beyond the surface. In her portraits, she seeks to communicate the joy and beauty she finds in the act of seeing and portraying the human face.
